1) The functions of the ER rough- They provide membrane factory for the cell. They grow in place by adding membrane proteins and phospholipids to its own membrane. And it makes its own membrane phospholipids.
Nucleus- Directs protein synthesis by sunthesizing mesenger RNA. It does this according to the instructions provided by the DNA. The mRNA transports the cytoplasm by the nuclear pores. Ribosomes translate the mRNA genetic information into the primary structure of the polypeptide.
Mitochondria- Generates ATP by extracting energy from sugars with the help of oxygen. They also grow and reproduce within the cell.
Lysosomes- They digest materials taken into the cell. They recycle the intercellular materials.
Cytoskeleton- Provides mechanical support. It anchors organelles. Helps with motility.
Ribosome- Build proteins.
Chloroplasts- Grow and reproduce within the cell.
ER rough- Synthesizes lipids. Produces sex hormones. Stores calcium ions. Helps deoxify drugs and poisons.
Golgi Body- Center of manufactoring, warehousing, sorting, and shipping in the cell.
Vacuole- Stores material, and pumps excess water out of the cell.
Peroxisomes- create hydrogen peroxide in the cell.
2) The reason why this happens is because when the water evaporates, the salt from the water is left to remain in the soil. Since water goes from [high] to [low], water was leaving the cell and leaving the salt behind. The salt dehydrates the the cell, causing it to die. In order to fix this problem, farmers could install water sprinklers. This would cost quite a bit, but the plants would be getting constant water flow and not having time to evaporate and there wouldn’t be any [salt] in the plants.
